Family and Pupil Wellbeing Co-ordinator/Deputy Designated Lead
Hi everyone my name is Donna Gray, I have worked at St Peter's CE Primary School for nearly 18 years.
During my time at St Peter’s School, I have undertaken a range of roles, each of which I have thoroughly enjoyed. All of these roles have centred around supporting and enabling children and their families in whatever ways they need. I recognise that life events affect us all, and it is essential that school provides compassionate, non‑judgemental support. My focus has always been on ensuring that every family feels listened to, respected, and helped in the most appropriate way.
My door is always open and you can contact me on my school Mobile Number: 07352 451986.
As part of this service, we offer a great deal of support targeted to the individual needs of our families.

Universal Support – What We Offer Every Child
At our school, every child is supported to feel safe, supported and included. We do this through our values‑based curriculum, inclusive teaching, wellbeing lessons, and positive relationships across school. Children also benefit from things like Forest School, sensory spaces, calm areas, and regular check‑ins with trusted adults. These are everyday supports that help all children with their learning, confidence and wellbeing.
Targeted Support – Extra Help When Needed
Some children may need a little more support at certain times. We offer small‑group and 1:1 sessions such as ELSA, nurture groups, gross motor skills, Lego therapy, SEMH support, nature sessions, and transition clubs. Staff work closely with families to understand each child’s needs and agree the right level of help. This support is short‑term and focused, helping children build confidence and skills.
Specialist Support – Working With Outside Agencies
If a family requires specialist help, we can make referrals and work with a range of professionals, such as Speech and Language Therapists, CAF, School Nurses, Early Help teams, Educational Psychologists, Paediatricians, Mental Health Support Teams and many other services within Blackburn with Darwen. We support families through the process, helping with referrals, signposting and communication. We work together to create personalised plans so children get the right support at the right time.
