Welcome to EYFS

Please use the tabs to look through specific components of the Early Years Foundation Stage. The Topic Overviews are especially exciting, they contain hyperlinks to help you support your child's learning - and possibly refresh your own memories!

Shaping early experiences: We focus on creating a safe, secure, and stimulating environment for children, promoting their development across a range of areas including literacy, maths, physical development, understanding the world and so much more!

A Unique Child: Every child is unique and constantly learning. We emphasise celebrating each child’s abilities and potential.

Positive Relationships: Children thrive when they feel loved, safe, and secure. Building strong relationships with caring adults and peers is at the heart of our EYFS provision.

Enabling Environments: We provide rich and supportive environment, which is essential for children to explore and learn.

Learning and Development: We give every child the best possible start to school life, supporting their development in a nurturing and inclusive environment. By focusing on key areas of learning and development, we ensure that children are well-prepared to thrive in their educational journey and beyond.

Reading Adventures: We employ the Monster Phonics scheme, which lays a strong foundation for phonics knowledge and decoding skills.  Visual cues and multisensory teaching brings phonics to life, creates engagement, and speeds up the learning process for everyone. Colour coding is used consistently and then cleverly phased out, creating confident independent readers. This approach makes it easier for children to remember spellings and read words confidently.

Remember: While some resources may be used with specific groups within EYFS, every child learns differently. We cater to individual needs and ensure all our pupils have the support they need to flourish.
